Our Story

Micron has grown by staying close to the work—and close to the customer.

Since 1982, Micron Corporation has supported OEMs with precision electronics manufacturing in New England. What began as a small shop has grown steadily into a dependable manufacturing partner for prototype, NPI, and production work across industrial, medical, aerospace/defense, and other high-reliability applications.

That growth did not come from chasing volume for its own sake. It came from earning repeat business: communicating clearly, solving manufacturability issues early, and building quality into each step—from stencil strategy and placement to inspection, test, and final integration.

Today, Micron remains grounded in the same practical mindset that shaped the company from the beginning. Customers come to Micron for the flexibility of a responsive local partner, combined with the process discipline, documentation, and build control needed for demanding assemblies.

Micron is a family owned and operated corporation, and that matters in how the company works with customers. Decisions are made close to the shop floor, relationships are treated as long-term commitments, and customers can reach people who understand both the business and the build.

How We’ve Grown

From a small shop to a broader manufacturing partner.

Micron’s growth reflects a steady expansion of capability, quality systems, and customer support—while keeping the responsiveness that makes a smaller partner valuable.

Then

Founded in 1982

Micron started as a focused local manufacturing resource, helping customers build electronics with hands-on attention and direct communication.

Growth

Expanded capabilities

As customer needs broadened, Micron added deeper SMT, Through Hole, mixed-technology, and box-build support to handle more complex assemblies.

Discipline

Stronger process control

Documented quality practices, inspection tools, test support, and DFM-minded project coordination helped Micron support increasingly demanding applications.

Today

Trusted across New England

Micron now serves OEMs as one of New England’s established electronics manufacturing partners for prototypes, NPI, and ongoing production work.

What We Build

Why Micron

The value of a responsive New England manufacturing partner.

Responsive communication

Customers get direct, practical support on RFQs, manufacturability questions, schedule updates, and changes that affect the build.

High-mix flexibility

Micron is built around the realities of short runs, repeat builds, engineering changes, and programs that do not fit a commodity model.

Quality-minded execution

Inspection, test support, documentation, and continuous process attention help reduce risk and keep complex assemblies moving in the right direction.

Partnership mindset

Micron aims to act like an extension of the customer’s team—helping resolve issues early instead of pushing problems downstream.
